Transportation, loading and unloading and storage of geosynthetic clay liner(GCL)

1. transport

(1) During long-distance transportation, it should be tightly tied and covered tightly to ensure that the product is not damaged;

(2) Pay attention to waterproof, moisture and corrosion during transportation;

(3) Pay attention to prevent the loss of bentonite particles in the geosynthetic clay liner(GCL) caused by long-distance transportation;

(4) During the transportation of auxiliary materials, the dryness of the auxiliary materials should be maintained to avoid affecting the use effect.

2. Loading and unloading

(1) Mechanized operation is used for the loading and unloading of waterproof materials, and the unified command is conducted by experienced commanders. During the loading and unloading process, sharp objects are prevented from damaging the product and the outer packaging of the product.

(2) When using a forklift or crane to carry the geosynthetic clay liner(GCL), hang the set sling or use a pallet. It is not allowed to use wire ropes or other things to pull up or only hang a little, to prevent damage or deformation of the waterproof blanket;

(3) When unloading the goods, visually inspect each roll of geosynthetic clay liner(GCL) for damage. The damaged ones should be marked and stored separately for further inspection. Repair damaged packaging before storage.

(4) When unloading, please pay attention to whether each roll of waterproof blanket keeps the dryness at the time of leaving the factory. If it is found that there is moisture expansion, it should be selected and placed separately, and contact the manufacturer in time.

3. Storage

(1) The storage of geosynthetic clay liner(GCL) must be moisture-proof, impermeable and waterproof.

(2) When storing geosynthetic clay liner(GCL), the bottom must be cushioned with sleepers or other things, and the height should be determined according to the site conditions. The principle is not to contact water.

(3) geosynthetic clay liner(GCL), including supporting bentonite powder and other auxiliary materials, should be stored in a watertight warehouse. When stacked in the open, they must be tightly covered with waterproof materials such as tarpaulins and films.

(4) The stacking height should not exceed four rolls.

4. Product protection:

(1) In the construction of the waterproof layer or when the waterproof layer has been completed and the protective layer is not completed, it is a critical period for the protection of the finished product. During this period, any unrelated persons are prohibited from entering the scene. For waterproof construction personnel and materials to enter, the principle of handling lightly must be observed, and it is strictly forbidden to show sharp objects hitting the waterproof layer.

(2) Pay attention to avoid damage to the waterproof protective layer during the construction of other processes, and do not damage the non-proof layer. During the construction process, if it is found that the waterproof layer is damaged, it should organize maintenance and repair as soon as possible.

(3) After the construction of the waterproof layer is completed, it is not possible to open holes or drill holes in the waterproof layer to install machinery and equipment. If it is necessary to open holes or drill holes in the waterproof layer, make a record first and arrange for repairs.

(4) The materials should be properly stored, sorted and stacked at the site to prevent moisture and keep away from the fire source. Fire is strictly prohibited.

(5) Prevent equipment from damaging the waterproof layer.

(6) Construction personnel should wear soft rubber-soled shoes, and hard-soled shoes with nails are strictly prohibited.

(7) The stacking materials on the waterproof layer should be handled lightly and paved.

(8) It is strictly forbidden to pile materials or other debris on the completed waterproof layer to prevent damage to the waterproof layer and leave hidden danger of leakage.

(9) If the local waterproof layer is damaged during construction, the technical and quality departments should be notified immediately to take corresponding reinforcement measures to ensure the quality of the waterproof construction.

(10) The waterproof blankets laid on the same day must be covered with backfill or temporary tarpaulins at any time according to the amount of paving; the waterproof blankets should not be covered overnight (mainly to prevent rain at night).
